Sammons Jazz: Keys to Coltrane

About this event

Opening the concert, the William Foley Group presents original music from pianist and composer William Foley’s newest release, LA-24, alongside selections from his extensive catalog of compositions. Blending jazz and classical influences through rich harmonies, memorable melodies, and inspired improvisation, the ensemble features Jason Smith on drums, Richard McClure on guitar, Henry Beal on bass, and Ste’fon Landers on saxophone.

Carlos Averhoff Jr. closes the evening with a vibrant tribute celebrating John Coltrane’s 100 th birthday through Afro-Cuban interpretations of Trane’s music. Showcasing his signature M.A.R.I. Joining him on stage are pianist Wade Girton, bassist Daniel Batista, and drummer Luis Avila.
