If you followed Plano's ballot Tuesday, here's the result: voters rejected Proposition A, 54.6% to 45.4%. The measure would have authorized venue taxes to help pay for a Dallas Stars arena at The Shops at Willow Bend. Those results stay unofficial until Collin and Denton counties canvass them.
City officials said the election decided whether Plano could use the taxes, not whether the arena gets built. Mayor John Muns said in a statement that the redevelopment "remains an important opportunity for our community."
Proposition A listed five taxes Plano could have imposed

| Short-term car rentals | Up to 5% |
| Hotel rooms | Up to 2% |
| Arena parking | Up to $3 per vehicle |
| Arena tickets | Up to 10% of price |

- Plano's bond commitment: up to $700 million
- Redevelopment: $3 billion mixed-use project west of the Dallas North Tollway
- Planned arena size: 18,000 seats

The Stars said in a statement they look forward to continuing their partnership with the City of Plano. Owner Tom Gaglardi told a Dallas Morning News columnist Wednesday, "We'll figure it out." CBS Texas reports the proposed arena faces uncertainty.
