Cowboys place rookie Malachi Lawrence on injured reserve and activate Marist Liufau before the Colts game

4games Lawrence will miss at minimum on injured reserve

Sunday is the first game he has missed this season. He had started the last three at outside linebacker.

If you're watching the Cowboys at noon today, the roster changed Saturday. Dallas placed rookie outside linebacker Malachi Lawrence on injured reserve and activated outside linebacker Marist Liufau, who fractured his forearm in the preseason finale. Newsday reports Lawrence has a high ankle sprain. After his first practice back, Liufau said, “I’ll be ready to punch some stuff out.”

Dallas (3-5) also elevated receiver Jordan Hudson and tight end James Mitchell from the practice squad. Kickoff against the Colts (2-6) is at noon CT at Lucas Oil Stadium, with FOX carrying the game.

  • Questionable: George Pickens, Joey Porter Jr., Jake Ferguson, Luke Schoonmaker
  • Out: KaVontae Turpin (rib), Jonathan Bullard (calf)
  • Lawrence's season: 13 tackles, 1 sack, 3 quarterback hits
